Only the most involved weather enthusiests are part of the Spotter Network. In May 2008 we averaged 2800 page loads a day and 9100 unique visitors.

About our banner ads

The 380 x 60 pixel headline banner ad is featured at the very top of _EVERY_ page. Your ad will go into shared rotation with other ads (typically about three others, but you can refresh this page to get an idea of how many other ads there are). The rates are as follows:

One month for $50
Six months for $240 (this equals $40/month)
One year for $360 (this equals $30/month)

Given the figure of 5 other ads in rotation, your ad will get about 20,000 page impressions per month (about $0.003 per impression). This is a SHARED, non-exclusive space. Our system selects a random ad with every page load (i.e. it is put into rotation). Your ad expires when your purchased time runs out. We cannot guarantee the number of impressions you will get.

Payments are made via Paypal, or check or money order. Let us know how you wish to pay and we will provide instructions. All payments must be in U.S. dollars. Allow 1 to 2 weeks for checks and money orders to be received and deposited (personal checks must clear the bank). We will not start an ad if we have not received payment. We do not do credit terms.

Banner Guidelines

Terms of Service We cannot guarantee server uptime or server performance under any circumstances. We will post the ad as quickly as possible; no guarantees are made. You will get your full term of service as paid for, even if we have to adjust it due to a late posting. Advertising space and services are provided without warranty. You understand that the space will be shared with other advertisers and you do not get an exclusive spot.
Format Banners must be in GIF, JPG, or PNG format, and must be 380 x 60 pixels, properly sized, and ready-to-use. We do not provide artwork services.
Banner location We will allow banners on your own server provided that it is in a fixed, nonchanging location and the URL contains a GIF, JPG, or PNG extension only.
Banner submission E-mail your banner to the address above. Specify in the same E-mail which URL you want it linked to.
Restrictions Banner ads must not exceed a filesize of 50 KB. Animated banners are acceptable. Flashing banners (rapid changing of a color back and forth) or banners that are considered distracting are considered to be against our editorial guidelines and will not be accepted. Banners need not pertain to weather, however they must be appropriate for our audience and may not contain or link to anything generally considered obscene. We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue a banner ad for any reason, or to change rates or policies at our discretion.
