Privacy Policy for The Spotter Network

This policy covers user privacy, system security, and Spotter Network information collection practices.

Site Management Data:

Spotter Network Web servers automatically collect information for site management and for statistical purposes. Each computer system uses software programs to create summary statistics, which are used for such purposes as assessing what information is of most and least interest, determining technical design specifications, and identifying system performance or problem areas.

The use of "cookies":

Spotter Network uses "persistent cookies" for customer login and preference tracking ONLY. No other use of persistant tracking technology is utilized.

Consent to Voluntary Information Collection and Sharing:

All the information users submit to Spotter Network is done on a voluntary basis. When a user clicks the "Submit" button on any of the Web forms found on Spotter Network's sites they are indicating voluntary consent to the conditions outlined in this policy. We do not collect personally identifiable information (e.g., name, address, phone number, e-mail address) unless you provide it. This information WILL be available to emergency management and other government officials to help in their severe weather missions. In no time will your information be given or sold to unaffilated third parties, nor will it be used to contact you about unrelated activities. (eg: sales, spam, etc)

Consent to Contact:
By registering with the SN you grant unrestricted rights to SNI to contact you via your listed contact information. This includes email and phone. The SNI must retain that right as a way of maintaining accountability. The SNI will only contact you for official newsletters and to investigate an issue with your account. You may revoke this right to contact at anytime by contacting [email protected]. Upon revocation we will terminate your account with the SN.
